Senvion internal memo has been leaked
All,
An internal memo by Senvion CEO Yves Rannou has been leaked.
It gives no specifics unfortunately, but it does support our thesis that:
1) The turbine portfolio is narrow, but - for lack of sharing sufficient engineering/construction synergies between models - too expensive to uphold. The memo
2) The company has been spreading too late, too thinly into too many new markets where it has too little presence and faces too much execution risk.
The memo refers to a restructuring programme, but made no reference (yet) to further job cuts. The aim is to:
1) simplify the business
2) increase customer focus
3) streamline the turbine range on offer and
4) exit some 20 markets (although it did not mention which).
The company wants to focus on: Europe, South America, India and Australia. By our math, there should be few other markets remaining, except perhaps North America.
We are hoping to learn more about the game theory soon.
Please let us know if you have any specific questions you would like covered.
