Tullow - comment

In acknowledgement that Tullow will not be able to make it on its own, management has been attempting to initiate merger talks with various parties. The latest suitor, Meren Energy (formerly Africa Oil), is a Canadian-listed peer. Sky reported that talks were progressing until last month, but have collapsed. No reason has been given. Meren Energy/Africa Oil were the minority partner in the Kenyan development, but left the consortium in May 2023.  

Tullow had previously entered discussions with Kosmos Energy, but those talks collapsed in December 2024. Previously, Tullow had sought to merge with Capricorn Energy, but those talks also collapsed.
