OHLA - comment 2
Illinois failed to follow its laws in awarding a $323m contract to upgrade a Chicago Toll Road, and OHLA has been disadvantaged, but getting a judgment and extracting cash from the state will take time. The Toll authority cancelled the contract on May 16th (2024), but OHLA had been working on the project from April 1st. OHLA obtained an injunction preventing the award to a (local) contractor until the case is settled. An out-of-court settlement is possible, as OHLA would rather minimise the knock-on impact on future dealings with the state of Illinois. So far, no details of the size of the claim have been made public.
