Amazon Prime’s increase in the minimum spend to qualify for free delivery from Morrisons is small in terms of direct impact, but it does indicate a direction of travel for online shopping and follows a similar move from Tesco. Prime is a secondary provider controlled (and priced by Amazon). The supermarkets are still exploring further delivery channels and pricing points. Morrisons have also partnered with Deliveroo for near-instant delivery, but its main online partnership is the JV with Ocado.
