UK Supermarkets have long sought to push into household goods to improve margins. It isn’t always successful, and Asda is closing two of its non-food outlets. Non-Food does remain an important part of revenue, accounting for around 15% of overall revenue, albeit mainly within food stores. The pure non-food format is a relatively small part of the business, and the stores were loss-making.
