Ardagh Group - comment

The closure of the Dolton plant will not have a major impact on Ardagh’s business, but it does underline that the weakness in glass packaging in the US is increasingly structural. The plant (in a Chicago suburb) employs 316 people, so it is larger than the Houston and Seattle (wine) plant closures earlier this year. With the restructuring of Ardagh Group’s debt coming soon, some good news about glass packaging wouldn’t go amiss.
